In a world where the ordinary and extraordinary coexist, 16-year-old Ayumu Aikawa's life takes a gruesome turn when he's brutally murdered during a routine investigation. However, his demise is short-lived, as he's mysteriously resurrected by Eucliwood Hellscythe, a necromancer with a penchant for the bizarre. Ayumu's newfound immortality comes at a cost, as he's transformed into a zombie, complete with a taste for brains and a penchant for chaos.

As Ayumu navigates his undead existence, he crosses paths with Haruna, a flamboyant and fearless magical girl who's fighting a losing battle against a bear with a chainsaw. After Haruna's magic is absorbed by Ayumu, she commandeers his new zombie powers, tasking him with hunting the Megalo, a terrifying breed of monsters that terrorize the human world. With his newfound abilities and Haruna's guidance, Ayumu embarks on a series of absurd adventures, blurring the lines between human and monster, reality and fantasy.
