On their journey to the military exam site, they meet a diverse group of comrades-in-arms, including infantryman Matthew Tetojirichi, sniper Torway Remion, and medic Haroma Becker.

After a treacherous storm sinks their vessel, the group finds themselves stranded in enemy territory, near a crucial military outpost. In a surprising turn of events, they discover that Princess Chamille Kitora Katjvanmaninik, the heir to the Katjvarnan throne, has been taken hostage. The group manages to rescue the princess, earning each of them the esteemed title of Imperial Knight, the highest honor a soldier can receive.
