In the seemingly ordinary city of Musashino, a sense of unease settles over its residents as the enigmatic Shounen Bat begins to wreak havoc. Clad in a mysterious getup and wielding a golden baseball bat, this elusive figure appears to be a force of chaos, striking down victims at random. Among his numerous targets is Tsukiko Sagi, a timid character designer whose own insecurities and fears seem to be exploited by the assailant.

As the attacks escalate, detectives Keiichi Ikari and Mitsuhiro Maniwa are tasked with unraveling the mystery behind Shounen Bat's identity. However, their efforts are hindered by the growing sense of paranoia that spreads throughout the city.
