In the late 19th century, Paris is abuzz with whispers of a mysterious tome known as the Book of Vanitas. Noé Archiviste, a skilled hunter, is determined to find this fabled grimoire, said to hold the secrets of the vampire world. His search leads him to an eccentric doctor, also named Vanitas, who claims to possess the very book Noé seeks. But there's a twist: this self-proclaimed vampire specialist is, in fact, a human who has inherited the name and the book from his master, the infamous Vanitas of legend. As Noé and Vanitas navigate the treacherous world of vampires, they stumble upon the enigmatic Charlatan's Parade, a case that will test the limits of Vanitas's unique ability to restore sanity to the afflicted undead by uncovering their true names.
