In the midst of the Battle of Sekigahara, Toyohisa Shimazu finds himself transported to a futuristic, gleaming white corridor, where he's confronted by a stoic figure named Murasaki and a seemingly endless array of doors. As he's pulled through one of these doors, he enters a fantastical realm teeming with mythical creatures and warriors from various eras of his own world, thought to be long deceased.

Toyohisa quickly forges bonds with legendary warlord Nobunaga Oda and the ancient archer Yoichi Suketaka Nasu, learning of the continent's growing turmoil. They've been summoned as "Drifters" to battle the "Ends," a ruthless force responsible for the Orte Empire's creation and its brutal suppression of elves and demihumans. As the Ends' power grows, so does the Empire's persecution, and it's up to Toyohisa and his motley crew of heroes to join the fray and challenge the Ends in a struggle to claim the land and protect its subjects.
